The path to success as a filmmaker is littered with lonely and often stressful moments. Most of the time you feel like you are just trying to convince people to let you try out your ideas, and when you get the gig, you are thrown into the deep end to figure it out. Many of us never get the chance to see or hear how another director makes their way through these early steps. That’s why an episode like this one is so special. On this episode of In Love with the Process Podcast, host Mike Pecci sits down with fellow filmmaker Stuart Valberg and discuss the things they love and hate about film sets. Stew comes from a background in the AD department and has worked on some amazing shows and films. More recently he has been working for David Fincher on his Netflix series MINDHUNTER. It’s fascinating to hear how he prepares his own productions and how his experience as an assistant director has shaped his filmmaking style.
